Show Freshman team wins two The Pleasant Grove Jr. High Freshman basketball team started off the season last week with two impressive wins. On Tuesday they met Waterford, and after about two minutes it was evident that it would be no contest for the much bigger P.G. Trojans. All 15 players saw action. Cody Bell was the leading scorer with 16 points. The Spanish Fork team came to town on Thursday, and Pleasant Grove came up with an impressive 53-45 victory after leading by as much as 17 points in the game. The Trojans out-quicked and out-hustled the Spanish Fork team, and came up with a lot of easy lay-ups. Jeff Harris proved to be too big and strong for Spanish Fork to stop inside, and he came up with 16 points to lead the scoring, and was dominant on the boards. Cody Bell added 11, and Scott Jensen chipped in 10. Mike Albrecht came off the bench to play a great game, scoring 8 and pulling down some big rebounds. Jason Sorenson scored 6. Coach Jay Walker's Trojans will play three games this week. |
