Round-About Raceway Presents Season's Awards By JUNE FRAMPTON Round-About Race-ay Race-ay held its awards banquet Saturday night at the Eagles Lodge in Pleasant Grove. Since Round-About centers around the - lamily, everyone was invited to come and join in the fun and to share some of the thrill of tog a winner. Following the H delicious meal, gag gifts were presented to racers as well as the trophies earned by June and John Frampton, I managers of the raceway program. In the Teen Class, Dan Bhoades took home the, championship trophy by ! accumulating 449 points throughout the 1981 race 1 ' Jason. Bob and Hal Itonard, who share a 'ar, took second' place ! with 427 points and Curina Rhoades was third with 352 points. In the Stock Class, . Ernie Oostveen won the championship with 380 points while his brother, jjj Alex, took second place tith 308 points and Lynn Rhoades was third with 215 points. Norman Rhoades won JL'lie championship Hophy in the Limited Class with 598 points. . Don Willingham was second with 434 points and Gary Davis took third with 368 points. The "Best Looking Car" award in the Teen Class went to Ron Beardall. Leon Park won the "Rookie" award. In the Stock Class it was Larry Park for "Best Looking Car" and Alex Oostveen as Rookie. Grant Leonard won "Best Looking Car" in the Limited Class. Thank you gifts were given to all who had helped make the year a success and Round-About Round-About belt buckles were presented to all drivers and track help. Racing jackets were given to Corina Rhoades, Leon Park, Bob and Hal Leonard, Larry Park. LeAlma Rhoades, Ernie Oostveen, Oost-veen, Alex Oostveen, Grant Leonard, John Longman, Don Willingham, Norman Rhoades and Lynda Millar for 100 percent attendance for the season. Special thanks were given to Nancy Beardall and the snack stand help. Liz Willingham who did a fantastic job as pit manager, was awarded a special "thank you" plaque. Round-About would like to thank all who helped make the year the fun, successful year it was. |
