The representative from the school board will be asked to talk about the proposal for year-roun- d schools , tat being the recentlydV;n. approved bond money" AU Parents havt students in Ail 8 School DiS4Alp:; invited to attend It has not been a. nounced who representative wiU C this time, v FBLA Students Attend Conference The Pleasant Grove Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America attended the State Fall Leadership Conference at the Homestead in Midway. The conferenc e proved to be very beneficial and in-formative. The students attended various classes and seminars. Then, after a luncheon, they enjoyed an ex-cellent lecture on "Leadership and Love," given by Dr. Gary Smith, professor at BYU. The students gained many leadership skills, parliamentary proced-ure skills and other skills necessary for success in the local chapter. Students attending the conference were Doreen Benson, president; Lori Bone, vice president; Marilyn Harper, secretary; Sheila Neilson, treasurer; John Gardner, parliamentarian; Tracy Covington, reporter; J o e n e McKay, historian; and Winda Clark, Chamber of Commerce represen-tative. Mrs. West, ad-visor, accompanied the students. Two officers were also installed as state of-ficers at the leadership conference. Sheila Neilson was installed as the state secretary and John Gardner was in-stalled as the state vice president. Congratulat-ions. FBLA officers are really excited and are planning many events for the school year. Civic work, business ties, programs, socials and many other events are being planned. ? if I . V, ' & ; I W Kir. An informative meeting open to all women interested in breastfeeding will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. at the home of Ann Burgener, 175 N. 850 E., Pleasant Grove. This month's topic for discussion is "The Art of Breastfeeding and Overcoming Dif-ficulties." Babies are always welcome. Participants are welcome to use the loan library provided by the league. Their parents are Parry and Jeanne Taylor and J. Dean and ;IIa Adams. A reception will be held Saturday, Nov. 21. from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Ithe Hinkley LDS Ward ;in Hinkley, Utah. Western dancing will be featured. All friends and relatives of the couple are invited. Marjorie is a graduate of Delta High School and Delta LDS Seminary. She has attended Utah State University for one year majoring in Ag. Education. Phil, formerly from Lindon, is also a graduate of Delta High School. Green, Provo and formerly of Pleasant Grove, are happy to announce the marriage of their daughter, Alesa, lo Jerrell Mark Curtis, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Fred Curtis of Blythe, Calif. The couple will be married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Nov. 17. That evening a reception will be held in their honor at the home of the bride's parents, 1105 Cedar Avenue, Provo, from 7 until 9 o'clock. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. The bride-to-b- e at-tended and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and BYU. She served an LDS mission to Canada Toronto and Brazil Sao Paulo North. Alesa has been teaching Home Economics in the Granite School District. Mark attended and graduated from Palo Verde High School and BYU. He served an LDS mission to Mexico. He has taught high school in North Dakota and is presently employed in Mexico. The couple will reside in Colonia Juarez, Mexico. |
