Show FBLA Students Attend Conference The Pleasant Grove Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America attended the State Fall Leadership Conference at the Homestead in Midway. The conferenc e proved to be very beneficial and informative. in-formative. The students attended various classes and seminars. Then, after a luncheon, they enjoyed an excellent ex-cellent lecture on "Leadership and Love," given by Dr. Gary Smith, professor at BYU. The students gained many leadership skills, parliamentary procedure proced-ure skills and other skills necessary for success in the local chapter. Students attending the conference were Doreen Benson, president; Lori Bone, vice president; Marilyn Harper, secretary; Sheila Neilson, treasurer; John Gardner, parliamentarian; Tracy Covington, reporter; J o 1 e n e McKay, historian; and Winda Clark, Chamber of Commerce representative. represen-tative. Mrs. West, advisor, ad-visor, accompanied the students. Two officers were also installed as state officers of-ficers at the leadership conference. Sheila Neilson was installed as the state secretary and John Gardner was installed in-stalled as the state vice president. Congratulations. Congratulat-ions. FBLA officers are really excited and are planning many events for the school year. Civic work, business ties, programs, socials and many other events are being planned. |
