Show Lehi Man Found Guilty in Elk Possession Case A Lehi man was recently found guilty, fined $598, sentenced sen-tenced to one year in jail for two counts of illegal possession posses-sion of elk. Arthur Henderson Hender-son and Eldridge Carter of the Law Enforcement Section of the Utah State Division of Wildlife Resources completed the investigation which led them to a garage in Lehi where they found the two elk. According to Mr. Henderson the heavy fine and jail sentence sen-tence resulted from two separate separ-ate cases, each involving one of the elk. Both elk were confiscated con-fiscated by the courts and will be sold by the Division of Wildlife Wild-life Resources to a church or other non-profit organization. Mr. Carter stated that elk are valuable as a state resource and citizens should be proud of Utah's elk herd. We have had excellent cooperation from concerned citizens in our investigation, in-vestigation, he stated. According to the court record, rec-ord, the jail sentence will be suspended upon payment of the fine. |
