Douglas Wadley Joins Guard Intelligence Unit A Pleasant Grove man re-cently received his appoint-ment to a military intelligence unit of the Utah National Guard according to Maj. Gen. Maurice L. Watts, adjutant general of Utah. Lt. Douglas A. Wadley, 1613 100S, has been assigned to the 142nd Military Inteligence Co. He graduate from Pleasant Grove High School in 1963 and has received a B.S. degree In Sociology from Brigham Young University in 1969. PALMER AND MISS REBECCA MONSON Rebecca Monson and Michael Palmer to Marry Saturday in Manti Temple Rites Mr. and Mrs. Jesse H. Mon-son of Pleasant Grove an-nounce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Rebecca to Michael B. Palmer, son of Mrs. Dwight H. Palmer and the late Dwight H. Palmer of Fillmore, Utah. The couple have set the date for November 18, 1972 in the Manti Temple with a reception in their honor that same even-ing in the Pleasant Grove Sixth Ward Cultural Hall. All friends and relatives are invited to at-tend. The bride-to-b- e is a gradu-ate of Pleasant Grove High School and fourth year semin-ary. She is also a graduate of Brigham Young University. The groom is a graduate of North Fremont High School, and fourth year seminary. He has fulfilled an LDS misssion to the Great Lakes Mission. He attended college at Brigham Young University and is cur-rently in Ash-to- n, Idaho, where the couple will make their home. 1 l l. f1 ! t I BRUCE B. GUYMON AND MISS VICKIE LYNN HALL Vickie Lynn Hall and Bruce G. Guymon to Marry in Salt Lake Temple on Dec. 1 Vickie Lynn Hall and Bruce G. Guymon, both of Price, Utah have announced plans to mar-ry in the Salt Lake Temple on Friday, Dec. 1. Vickie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman G. Hall, for-merly of Pleasant Grove, and the granddaughter of the late Perry P. Jensen, and Clara Cor-nu-now living in Provo. She is the granddaughter, also of Mrs. Grant Hall of Pleasant Grove. Bruce is the son of Rex S. Guymon of the Price area. The young couple have both attended College of Eastern Utah at Price, and Utah State University at Logan. The groom-to-b- e has filled a two-ye- ar mission. An uncle of the groom will perform the wedding ceremony in the Salt Lake Temple, and a wedding reception is planned for the evening of Dec. 1 in the Carbon LDS Stake House, 150 South, Fifth East, in Price. All friends of the family are invited to attend the reception. The young couple plan to make their home in Price, where both are employed. v ...... A r. f " .; BRIAN M. PATCH AND MISS TAYVA RHOTON Tayva Rhoton and Brian M. Patch Plan Arizona LDS Temple Marriage for Nov. 17 Mr. and Mrs. Clyde V. Rho-ton of Winslow, Arizona are pleased to announce the forth-coming marriage of their daughter Tayva to Brian M. Patch, son of Dr. and Mrs. Rob-ert C. Patch of Orem, formerly of Lindon. . The couple will be married November 17th in the Arizona LDS Temple with a reception that evening in the Winslow Ward Cultural Hall. An open house honoring the young couple will be held at the home of the groom's parents, 1771 South 290 East, Orem on Sat-urday, Nov. 25, from 8 until 10 in the evening. All friends and relatives are cordially in-vited. The bride-elec- t graduated from Winslow High School and is also a graduate of the four-yea- r seminary program. She is presently a student at Brigham Young University majoring in dramatic arts. Brian is a graduate of Pleas-ant Grove High School and the three-yea- r LDS Seminary pro-gram. He served an LDS mis-sion in the Central States and is currently a student of Brig-ham Young University, where he is majoring in business man-agement. The young couple will pitch their tent in Orem. Preparation Meet Set by Timp Stake Tonight, 7:30 p.m. "No Ordinary Primary" is to be the theme for the Timpan-ogo- s Stake Primary Prepara-tion meeting to be held at the Timp Stake House Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m. There will be department work for presidencies, leaders, Jr. accompanists, and Blazer B leaders. His prize: choice of a man's or lady's Waltham wrist watch Mike was among the 776 lucky winners to be drawn by Olyr' pic star Mark Spitz and Johnny Carson. More than 1 million entries were submitted by bank employees from all 50 states. PI. Grove DUP Camp Held Meeting Last Friday Nov. 10 Pleasant Grove Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers held their monthly meeeting at the Timpanogos Stake Center Friday, Nov. 10. Captain Fern Hicks conduct-ed and opening prayer was given by Ina Iverson. Chorister Merle Stubbs led the group in singing "The Daughters of the Utah Pion-eers," their practice song "Pull-ing Hard Against the Stream," accompanied by Hortense Fronk. Minutes were read and the roll call conducted by Melva Mattinson. There were 21 members present. The pledge of allegiance to ! the flag was then given and business matters discussed. Al-so, plans for the Christmas par-ty were made. "Hotels" was the name of the lesson very well presented by Edna Newman. Mary Howes prepared and read a very in-teresting history on "The Chic-ken Ranch" which is located part way up on Mt. Mahogany. Closing prayer was given by Leaone Carson, and light re-freshments were served by hos-tesses Mary Howes, Delilah Fu-ga- l, Mary Jane Johnson and Margaret Atwood. Randall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E. Randall of Pleasant Grovel recently completed a nine-wee- k transportation offic-er basic course at the U.S. Ar-my Transportation School, Ft. Eustis, Va. Lt. Randall is a 1967 grad-uate of Orem High, and receiv-ed his commission at BYU in the Reserve Officers Training program. He received his B.S. degree in 1972. His wife Linda lived in Virginia during his schooling there. |
