Show Timp Chorale to Sing Saturday In Tabernacle The Timpanogs Chorale of Pleasant Grove has been invited in-vited to sing at the annual Choral Music Festival, sponsored spon-sored by the Utah Federation of Music Clubs, and co-sponsored by the Utah State Institute In-stitute of Fine Arts. The Choral Festival will be held this Saturday, Nov. 18, beginning at. 8 xi.m. . in the Provo Tabernacle, 1st South and University Ave. Under the direction of Leslie Les-lie Rees, accompanied by his wife Catherine, the Chorale will sing two numbers, "She Walks in Beauty" and "Consider "Con-sider Yourself," from the film Oliver. They will join with 10 other featured choruses in the finale number, "Hallelujah Chorus" from Beethoven's or-atoria, or-atoria, Mount of Olives. Elvis B. Terry, director of the Mendelssohn Male Chorus for 34 years, will be Master of Ceremonies, and also direct his chorus in two numbers. Edward A. Sandgren, music teacher at Orem High School, will direct the Orem High School A Cappella Choir, Orem High Mens Chorus and also will be guest conductor of the 500 combined voices in the finale fin-ale number. This Choral Festival is being dedicated to Mrs. Victor J. Bird of Provo, president of the Utah State Music Federation, who has worked in the Federation Feder-ation for over 30 years. The performance is open to the public, free of charge. The Chorale would be pleased to have residents of Pleasant Grove in attendance to support sup-port them. |
