(t f Mountain Rose Boutique features many cftarms The new location will allow Mountain Rose to expand into the gift business as well as the accessory lines. Located Lo-cated at 612 Main Street (formerly Cartiers), the space will soon be filled with one-of-a-kind specialty items. With the addition of the new space, the women plan to expand their apparel lines in their shop in the Silver Queen Hotel. "For fall, we have a number of suede dresses coming in," said Tami. "There will also be a lot of leather and lambskin, but mostly we will continue to carry a wide selection of sportswear. It seems to be the trademark of the Park City woman." Offering a local's discount and keeping their prices competitive with Salt Lake (they try to be a few dollars less on most items) has begun to reshape women's ideas on where to shop. The Mountain Rose expansion was made possible because these retailers, who have a combined total of nearly 30 years of experience in the field, are unabashedly catering cater-ing to the locals. And the locals are responding. At the Mountain Rose, you might say business is blooming. The brightly-colored metal dive bombers are toy-sized and strung on a necklace. They look like what old Cracker Jack toys used to look like. In fact, they are old Cracker Jack toys, but now they have a feminine name and a new use. Cracker Jill antique prize jewelry became fasionable after the heir to the Cracker Jack fortune took his bride on a tour of the factory. There she found barrels and barrels of pre-World War II metals toys. They simply begged to become novelty jewelry. The Mountain Rose boutique bou-tique will carry a full line of the novelty Cracker Jill jewelry in their new space on Main Street, next door to their clothing store. For sisters Tami Anderson and Shari Milner, seeking unusual un-usual and affordable items for their Park City customers is what makes tneir business enjoyable. "We depend on our local support, juniors and women alike," said Tami. "And, they have been very good to us. That's why we need the expanded space." The .Main Street location will mostly offer the unique accessories which Mountain Rose can call their trademark trade-mark eelskin bags, gem stone jewelry, belts made from garden hose, and antique sterling silver bags. The shift in emphasis to accessories is now being touted on the pages of high fashion magazines. "Accessories "Acces-sories are an important look, something that ties together the total picture," says Shari. "For an older outfit, they can update it; for a new 'Outfit, they can -create a look.'" |
