Show ; Summer Dance Workshop brings top talent to P.C. j Ed Perez It is not always true that serious dancers have to go I to New York or L.A. to study under well-known j k f teachers. This summer, for the second year in a row, ' the teachers are coming to Park City. i Mary Jane Bird, the Park City Recreation Department's Depart-ment's dance advisor, has invited several accomplished accom-plished dance instructors to conduct a two-week workshop at the Memorial Building. Each instructor ! specializes in a different form of dance, and par- j ' ticipants will be able to concentrate on one style or try a little of each. ! The classes will begin July 11. According to Mary j Jane Bird registration is still open, although there are only a few places left in the children's creative dance j class. The children's class will be taught by Leslie i Creamer of Texas Women's University. It will be j taught daily from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. through July i 22. The cost is $25. For the adult classes, which will meet daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 j p.m., the cost is $75. "We are offering a special rate of j $60 for locals," Bird said. Single classes will be $10. j For adults, there will be beginning, intermediate and ! advanced classes in modern dance, tap and two styles of jazz. Kelly Roth, who directs Kelly Roth and Dancers, Danc-ers, will be teaching modern dance. Jeff Fergussen, who is a faculty member of the Alvin Ailey Dance Center Cen-ter in New York City, will be teaching Ailey's special style of jazz. And Ed Perez of Show Stoppers in San Diego will be specializing in theatrical jazz. Perez is in , ; town this week to choreograph the Greenshow for the ' , Intermountairf Actors Ensemble. |
