Show IPcrapsoDimaill paipfflgip&iplliis. knutsens celebrate 80th birthdays I '. v. ! .! . v Martin and Lillie Knutsen The children of Martin and Lillie Knutsen will honor them on their 80th birthdays ' on Saturday, July 9, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at their home at 140 East Chase Lane, Centerville, Utah. Friends and family are cordially invited to join the celebration. Lillie Violet Adderly was born in Birmingham England Eng-land on July 9, 1903 and moved to Utah in 1910 with her mother Elizabeth and two brothers, Len and Will. Her mother married Thomas Phillips, and the family moved to Porterville, Utah, where Emma and Dennis were born. Lillie married Gilbert Carter in 1922 and they lived in Bingham, near Salt Lake, before they moved to Park City in 1930. Gilbert was killed in the mine in 1938, leaving behind a family of seven children: Berneil, Verna Mae (deceased), (de-ceased), Arvil, Beverly, Marcine, Stanley and Gary (deceased). Lillie and Martin Knutsen were married Aug. 16, 1943 and endowed in the Salt Lake Temple Dec. 12, 1948. Martin H. Knutsen was born Sept. 26, 1903 in Palmyra, Utah. He married Eiva Henefer Dec. 22, 1922. They had three children, Harvey, ' Lois and Shirley, before the marriage ended in 1931. Martin had his own barber shop in Spanish Fork for years and became the first barbering instructor at Trade Tech in 1948. He retired in 1971 with several board of directors positions to his credit. Lillie and Martin were blessed with a son, Sherman. They have both been active in church and civic pro grams and hold many positions posi-tions in Salt Lake and Centerville, where they have lived since 1954.
