Mrs. Fields opened her first cookie shop six years ago in Palo Alto near Stanford University. The venture yielded $200,000 worth of business in the first year. In 1982, the privately-held privately-held company rang up sales of about $30 million. It has stores in eight states with plans to have stores in four additional states this year. Mrs. Fields Cookies is headquartered head-quartered in Park City. The operation has brought national attention to Debbi Fields. Articles have been written in publications that include People Magazine, ! Fortune, The New York j Times, the San Francisco 5 Examiner and the Chicago : Sun-Times. j Mrs. Fields gives ap- proximately one-fourth of j the company's profits to j charity. Her company is the largest corporate donor to j fight cystic fibrosis. ! As a member of the Utah 5 Firstbank Board of Direc- I tors, Debbi Fields will be involved with one of Utah's j fastest growing financial institutions.
