Show Chamber Made Take hearl local business! It appears that the ongoing Air Traffic Controllers strike is having little or no impact on Park City's summer tourism industry. The following trends seem to dominate the majority of Park City properties: 1) Cancellations by individual indivi-dual parties arc negligible. Summer tourism seems to be dominated by those visitors traveling by automobile. Those individual parties using us-ing air transportation may be experiencing minor delays, however, they do not seem to be altering vacation plans. 2) Group sales have been affected slightly: - One group (60 people) cancelled. -Groups using air travel are typically losing a small percentage of conference participants. However, losses loss-es are not significant enough for entire group cancellat-' ions. - Conference groups out of Salt Lake make up a large portion of the current convention con-vention trade in Park City. These groups arc not affected affect-ed by the strike at all. Park city is fortunate in that the Air Traffic Controllers strike did not occur during our peak winter season. At least for (he time being. Park City merchants can look toward relatively normal business trends. Hopefully, these normal trends will continue throughout the duration du-ration of the strike. |
