Show off ie wm Do you feel the 24 terminated employees should have been reinstated after the appeals board voted to give them back their jobs ? I- i ' : I I ' "" ' . ,.. I don't think the City Council and the City Manager should be able to override the Appeals Board. I think they should be allowed back. I don't think it will happen again; I think they'll listen. I don't think it's fair that they're not allowed back to work, but I can see Mrs. Loble's point. You just can't please everybody. A lot of times people who are striking ask for a lot more than anybody deserves. President Pre-sident Reagan took a stand on the issue, proving we can do without them. There are lots of others to take their place. Somebody has to take a stand. x - k i fn M y, ' I Spencer Nelson Actor Rhen Morris Student from Nepal - ' i '- - . . - .-.. . - I Jim Smith Shirt off my back owner Yes, I do. The City has spent enough on other stuff that they can afford to give in a little. I know of City employees who have been working for 12 years and are making $6.35 an hour. That's not what I'd call incentive. I think they should have compromised. I don't believe in striking, but both sides ' should have compromised to avoid a strike. I really don't think it would hurt the City to give in a little. I think she was a little too severe; there should have been more negotiations. I don't believe in striking, but I think there should have been more diplomacy in the solution. |
