Show Monday Morning Quarterbacking which was finally - adopted in November of 1978 after approximately approx-imately six months of preparation. prepara-tion. We published public notices of two open hearings for public input and had one citizen (County Commissioner Bill Wal-lin) Wal-lin) in attendance. Since it's creation in 1976 the Park City Fire Protection District Dis-trict has made substantial progress under the very able leadership of Jim Schnirel. Fire prevention and protection in the District is at an all time high and the people of the District should feel both secure and proud of the numerous volunteer firefighters fire-fighters who unselfishly give of their free time to protect your homes and businesses from the threat of fire. I urge all citizens who have a sincere desire to participate in the improvement of fire protection protec-tion services in Park City and the surrounding county locations loca-tions to attend our bi-monthly meetings and get" involved by sharing your concerns and ideas with us. We are open to, and indeed welcome, any input the public may have. We will look forward to seeing many of you at our' meeting on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the training room of the Park City fire station. Thank you. Sincerely, Tom Shellenberger Chairman, Park City Fire Protection District Dear Editor; Ever since the major fire at the Snowflower condominiums on March 6th, there has been considerable interest in fire protection expressed by the citizens of Park City in both newspapers. We of the Park City Fire Protection District appreciate this concern but feel it smacks of Monday Morning quarterbacking. For over two years since the District was formed in January of 1976, we have been holding bi-monthly meetings on the first and third Wednesdays .of each ' month. Several notices of these meetings have been published in both papers but we have yet to have a single concerned citizen attend a meeting except for several volunteer firemen. In addition to our regular meetings, we hold an announced announc-ed public budget hearing each year at which we discuss how your tax dollars are to be spent for fire protection and prevention. preven-tion. Again, not a. single citizen has attended these hearings to offer their input. Several months ago the District set about drafting a master plan for the District |
