for this party ot of land lubbers As soon as the fishing boat left the pter pier joe and douglas became seasick sea sick and remained so the entire trip when out in the ocean some fifteen or twenty miles the motor of the fishing ashing boat went dead resulting la in just drifting around until another boat happened along to pick them up and added to all this it was poor Es fishing hing not a fish being caught by any of the party making it in all a very dis agreeable day instead of the anticipated good day because of the ral mishaps the entire boat passengers were given free passes so it may be the members of our party may try it again but not the seasick sea sick ones however while the other boys were fishing the oldest member of the party went over 01 er to alhambra to get news of the III ones at home which was a bit encouraging but not as good as we would have liked A run was then taken to los angeles to while away a few hours to mingle with the crowds which were immense and getting immens Im menser er as the opening day of the big olympic festival approaches while the benches in the parks are filled with unemployed edi and thousands walking the streets the big department stores were jammed with buyers and the theaters filled to overflowing at the afternoon performances so perplexing poverty and pleasing prosperity touch shoulders in this as in all other big cities of the nation we read in the papers of the big and distinctive fire at the world famous coney island resort back in new york and having been thele on more than one os occasion casion easily pictured the devastation and thrilling excitement of the great million dollar blaze we felt sorry tor for the many pleasure seekers who lost their all while dipping in the briny deep out but feel like congratulating those who had bad to flee from bath houses clutching only a towel to cover their nakedness as that would be considered surplus covering to some of the bathers in this tamed famed
