Show CHIEF JUSTICE OF SUPREME COURT New York, Oct. 10. It was learned here today that among the cundl lates for chief justice of Die I'nited States supremo court, whom President Taft l.i considering. Is Associate Justice IJdward Douglass White. He is strongly strong-ly urged for the place. Justice White was apjioinled to the supreme court from Louisiana and Is a Democrat tl is believed the President Presi-dent will not give very great weight to political considerutK'n in making Ills select Ion.
