Margaret Smoot Walker and Clarence Walker have disappeared with stocks, bonds and securities, belonging to the estate, es-tate, valued at $1.000,wo. Judge John A. Marshall of the Unulted States court issued a citation to have the widow and heirs brought bofore tho court to show cause why thoy should not be punished for contempt. According Accord-ing to the attorneys for Mrs. Walker, she is now somewhere in the state of Idaho or Washington with her son and daughter. They left here 10 day3 ago In their automobile, according accord-ing to her attorney, and if she has the securities In her possession she carried them with her. Tho citation is returnable ten days alter service. In the allidavlt, Mr. Paul declares that Mrs. Walker has in her possession posses-sion $53,000 shares of Capital stock in the Western Pacific railroad. She is alleged to have In tier ijossesslon a promissory note of J E. Bennett, an $lx,f00 note signed by II. W. Walker Walk-er for $12,500, ;i note ny D. F. Walker Jr., for $9,000; $20,000 worth of government gov-ernment bonds; 20.000 shares of i stock In the SanFranclsco & Lake Taho railroad; $40,000 worth of stock in Keith-O'Brien's store; $50,000 worth or stock In the Utah Light and Power company; about $30 000 worth of stocks in New York banks, and several thousand shares of capital stock In banks in San Francisco. In the Mammoth Mining company, 12f shares of capital stock; and other mining stocks valued ut thousands of dollars. She Is also alloeed to have oin her possession about $79,000 cash which Is the proceeds of notes and becurities of various kinds. |
