Show MORE COAL SCANDALS Los Angeles Man Had a Dummy Company for Alaska Fraud Seattle, Nov. S. The indictment returned at Spokane recently by a federal grand Jury against Hurry lilte of Los Angelas, former mayor of Seattle, for hia alleged connection with Alaska coal frauds, accuses White of having incorporated the Alaska Clean Smokeless Anthracite Coal company, capital JlO.Ooo.uon, for the purpose of taking over Alaska coal claims, and of having Induced Misses Cora B. Anderson and Neva L Airy, stenographers of Seattle, to act as dummy incorporators. The former became president and the lnl-ter lnl-ter secretary and treasurer of the company. To this corporation the In- i diriment says, were transferred nine claims t the Charles Doughton group. The young women arc employed by attorneys for White. They say that they signed a large number of papers pa-pers without reading them and received re-ceived no pay for tholr services. |
