Show HEW gOJl DISCRIMINATION WILL BE NO LONGER PRACTICED AFTER THE FIRST OF THE MONTH OTHER ROADS SHOULD BE FORCED TO DO LIKEWISE. This ofllce is in receipt of the new passenger trulhu sheet of the Bam-beigcr Bam-beigcr railroad, which takes effect September 1, and which ha-s been adjusted ad-justed and the rates reduced, so far a- Ogden is concerned, materially. Judge Heywood, president of the Weber club, and Mayor Glasmann, having acted as a special committee ou the part of thy city, adjusted these rates. Herealter tho rules from Farming-ton Farming-ton to Ogden will be CO cents, while formerly (hey were C5 cents. Tho lourid-lrfp tlckeu from J-'anulngton to Ogden herealter will be f0 cents, where formerly they were $1 :iu. A single-price ticket from Kaysvillo to Ogden will be 4u ccdis and the round trip ticket 60 cents. , Formerly It was 50 cents one way aud ?1 00 the round trip. Formerly no reduced rouud-trlp tickets were sold to Ogden. uhlle Fait Ike had round trip reduced tickets from all points. All one-way tickets aj-e limited to date of sale, while all rounJ-trlp tickets tick-ets are limited to ten days. Conductors Conduc-tors collecting fares on trains will charge 10 cents additional. Now that the Salt Lake &. Ogden Railroad Company was forced to give to Ogden Just as reasonable rates as Ibey gave to Salt Lake City, It is proper that action bo taken to get the Oregon Short Line and RIo Grando Western to grant the same service and rates to Ogden. Ogden bas been discriminated against so long that tbo people had come to tho conckiblon that it was inevitable and could not be remedied. Now that the mayor of the city and the president of the Weber club have shown that Ogden can have justice done by simply, sim-ply, getting after tho matter right, we would suggest that the president of tbo Weber club appoint another committee com-mittee to take charge of the Oregon Short Line and Rio Grande Western adjustment of rates to Ogden. Of course, all any committee gets for Its services Is either the thanks or curses of the public and those are vorth gome-thing. Now the Ogden people can make ar- I Tangements to capture tho trade from j FarmlngtOD north. |
