Show VACATION AT AN END. The summer vacation period is drawing to a close. Each day the tanned members of a family who have been out in the mountains camping or at some of the resorts arrive at their city homes to take up the routine of city life once more. Father again jumps into the turmoil of business, which to his surprise has run remarkably well even if he was not there; mother begins preparations to send the children to school. Clothing must be overhauled, new garments added to the wardrobe, shoes, school books and a hundred and one other necessary articles must soon be purchased. The merchants will note a revival in trade conditions and all channels of business will feel the impetus of Fall trade. The summer sum-mer season will soon have passed. Already the cool nights have the tang of early autumn and that harbinger of autumn, the cricket, is a busy little songster these days. It has been a long, quiet summer and the people of Ogden will gladly welcome the awakening which always comes with tho first of September. |
