Show KNIGHT TAKES OVER GOOD ELY GROUND Steele Group in Robinson Canyon Goes to "Uncle Jesse"; Deal Pending a Year. John A. Steele and Richard A. Riepe two of tho pioneers of Ely, are in Salt Lake, concluding a sale of prop erty to "Uncle'' Jesse Knight. About nine months ago a sale was to Mr. Knight of the Steele property In Robinson Rob-inson canvon. the consideration being be-ing ? 10,00ft. Al the time of salo Mr. Knight paid the owners $1000 and held back the remainder of the consideration con-sideration until the title was perfected perfect-ed Messrs. Steele and Rlepe have in the meantime perfected their title to the property and obtained a patent to all the ground Involved. They are here now to make a transfer of the Steele ground to Mr. Knight. This grnip Is located about midway between Ely and Lane City. The development de-velopment work was done by means of a tunnel and a considerable amount of l"ad-sllver and gold ores were extracted ex-tracted bv the crude methods that were employed in the early days. Since the title has been perfected and the property Is to be turned over to Mr. Knight, plans will be laid for j more extensive development. j Mr. Knight made a careful inspection inspec-tion of the Ely district about a ear aqo. lie and his engineers visited some of the adjacent territory to Ely and was reported to have taken an interest in severnl propositions. The Steele group appealed to him the strongest and it is said that he Intends In-tends to do bis principal work on this property. He has mt then out his plans of development, but It is understood that he will first organize a company and go after the property in a worknanlike manner. Much Interest In-terest is manifested in Mr Knight's plans, as it will naturally stimulate activity In the section where he proposes pro-poses to operate. |
