Show BATTLESHIPS FOR PACIFIC COAST San Frunvisco, Nov. 18. A battleship battle-ship licet for tho Pncllic coast and an additional twenty-five regiments of Infantry In-fantry and a proportionate Increase in the field artillery and cavalry are urged on congress In a resolution adopted ad-opted by the Pacitic Congress, composed com-posed of delegates from ten states and territories on the Pacific slope. The resolutions follows: "Kesnlod, that wp respectfully urge that the regular arm of the I'nited States be Increased by a leat t.venly-flve t.venly-flve regiments of infantry and proportionate propor-tionate increases in the field artillery and cavalry to tho end that our fortified forti-fied harbors may be protected against possible Invasion." Other resolutions adopted endorse tho proposed Panama-Pacific exposition exposi-tion in this city, the San Diego exposition, exposi-tion, the Canada-to-Mexlco highway project, exemption of American vessels ves-sels plying between American ports from payment of Panama canal tolls and strong requests to congress for legislation to aid in upbuilding the American merchant marine. |
