Renewed riot-Snp riot-Snp today, in which one policeman was shot, disturbed the comparative peace that recently marked the garment gar-ment makers strike. M.re than a score of strikers, most of them women wo-men and girls, were arrested and several sev-eral policemen were Injured Thomas Flower., a private detective, detec-tive, was shot while aiding the police disperse strikers. Theatrlkers were said to be on their way to break into the plant of the Royal Tailors, where non-union help is employed. Flowers joined the police aud ordered the strikers to disperse. Instead oue of the crowd fired Into the platoon f policemen. The Injured man was taken ta-ken to u hospital and Mrs. Magdalene De Uonn. a striker, was arrested. A revolver with one chamber recently re-cently discharged, was found In her possession. She denied havlug fired the shot, however, hut said she picked up the weapon aTter it had been thrown on tho grounds |
