MILLION IN A LOCAL CANAL The annual meeting of the stock-I stock-I holders of the Davis & Weber Counties' Coun-ties' Canal company will he held tomorrow, to-morrow, when a full report of tho work done on the big ditch up to dato will be given by Knclneer W. M. I!os-laph, I!os-laph, who is In chargo of the million-dollar million-dollar improvement work now under way. There can be little doubt that I bo engineer's report will b received very favorably bv the stockholders as tho work has been pushed forward with an unprecedented rapidity. At the present time the canal, which will bo about nine miles in bngth, is more than half completed and is being concreted con-creted at a rate of 1 OiiO feet per day. Work has now been started on the canyon work and the excavation of lock for the widening of the canal will begin at once. The entire torce of workmen will be used in the canyon.
