Her breezy, characteristic writings were widely read and praised. DEATH OF MRS. F. Q. EASTMAN Former Newfpaper Woman Expires at Home of Parents In Detroit. Salt Lake, May 9. Word was received re-ceived yesterday from Detroit giving the news of the death of Mrs. Bonnio l.anagan Eastman, wife of Frank G. Eastman, city editor of tho Herald. Mrs. Eastman has been ill for somo weeks from typhoid fever. Her death occurred at the homo of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R, F. Lanagan, In Detroit. She was 25 years old Mrs Eastman was an exceptionally brilliant newspaper and magazine writer writ-er and was the author of a number of clever short stories. She came to Salt Lako from Detroit and for several months was a member of the staff of the Tribune. Two years ago she was married to Frank (J. Eastman, citv editor of tho Herald, and has lived iu Salt Lako continuously up until about three months ago, when the went to her home in Detroit on a visit There she was taken ill with typhoid fever and this illness resulted In hcr death. One child, Rex Richard Eastman, survives. The husband returned on Thursday from a hurried trip to Detroit caused by her Illness.
