Show CONFERENCE OF OGDEN STAKE HELD IN TABERNACLE YESTERDAY, YESTER-DAY, LARGELY ATTENDED. Reports from Various Wards Show Church In Good Working Condition, Condi-tion, Presidency Reorganized The quarterly conference of the Ogden Og-den stake, which was held in the Ogden tabernaclo yesterday was largely attended and the gathering was an instructive and interesting one. Three meetings were held, ono in tho forenoon, another in the af-ternoon af-ternoon and tne meeting of the young peoplo In the evening, The speakers at the first meeting were Apostle Hyrum Smtih, . President Presi-dent Brlgham H. Roberts of the Seventy Sev-enty quorum, Professor W. M. Mc-Kendrlck, Mc-Kendrlck, President T. B. Evans of the Ogden stake, and A. J. Anderson of Huntavllle. Apostle Smith took for his topic, both in the forenoon and afternoon, "The responsibility we should assume as Latter-day Saints," and President Roberts discussed tho question of "Perfection, and how to attain It," tho other speakers dwelling upon various questions regarding religion re-ligion and church affairs in general. Tho speakers In the afternoon were Apostle Smith, President Roberts. Professor McKendrick and President C. C. Richards. At the evening session ses-sion Elder Guy Clark interestingly discussed the educational work that is before the Mutual Improvement associations for the coming summer. The reports from the different wards of the stake thowed all to be In good working condition and the mom-1 mom-1 bers of the church uttending fairly well 10 their religious duties. At tho afternoon session the stake presidency was reorganized. Professor McKen-. McKen-. drick being called to tho position of s second counsellor to fill the vacancv . occasioned by tho resignation of Elder Eld-er Thomas McKay, who is now In the missionary field. The High Coun-sel Coun-sel as selected and confirmed, Is composed com-posed of Elders D. D. McKay, of Iluntsvllle; O. M. Sanderson, of the Sixth ward, aud Virgil Stalllngs of Eden. Those released from the : quorum were A. 1. Wright and G. M. Thatcher. All the officers of tho stake were confirmed and sustained in their various positions by the unanimous unan-imous vote of those attending the conference. |
