Show ADOLPH ROSEN BECKER CONDUCTOR. j r, r-n I : V v, ( . . ; - ! I ' 1 i Adolph Rosenbecker, the conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, was bom in Germany. He studied the violin vio-lin under the famous Ferdinand David, composition with Richter Hauptman, orchestration with Carl Reinecke all professors of the Leipzig Conservatory. In 1870 Mr. Rosc-nbecker como to ; America and joined the Theodore ; Thomas Orchestra, remaining with that organization eight years, and then settled in Chicago, where Mr. Rosen-becker Rosen-becker conducted nil the Important concerts previous to Sir. Thomas coming com-ing to Chicago. In 1S99, Wh ;n Mr. Charles Beach organized or-ganized the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Or-chestra, Mr. Roaenbecker was chosen as the first conductor on account of his great ability and reputation, and has since conducted the orchestra, except ex-cept for one season. Under Mr. Roscn-becker's Roscn-becker's direction the Chicago Symphony Sym-phony Orchestra has met with the greatest success, as ho Is rightfully looked upon Ml over the United States as one of the most talented and able choral and orchestral conductors, with an orchestra experience second to , tone.
