Show ROSE ONCE MORE IN JAIL i SHE INSISTS ON BEING ONE OF THE REGULAR BOARDERS. Three Men, Who Have Been Lodgers at the Jail, Accused of Begging on the "Bench." The morning session of police court was marked today by a number or rather grave charges preferred iigainst men of years aud a stiff sentence sen-tence imposed upon a would-be- masher mash-er who carried the scene or his prospective pros-pective conquest into the very house of his victim where he was nabbed by an irate parent and turned over to the police. A colored damsel was also given 10 days for her ehori comings, com-ings, and a number of vags and othet petty offenders were disposed of. Rose Burnall was the name of tho colored woman arrested upon tho charge of vagrancy, being the same individual who was the recipient of considerable notoriety a few weeks ago when charged with a contemplated contemplat-ed assault upon a sick white man In a local rooming house. Rose pleaded guilty to. the charge and was given 10 day9 in Jail. Charles Anderson, Frank Wanne-cott Wanne-cott and John Barrow were arraigned arraign-ed on the charge of vagrancy. Officers Offi-cers testified that the three mea had been securing free lodging at the Jail for some time, and had been in the habit of going about over tho residence resi-dence district, begging their food during dur-ing the day. The court informed tho defendants that their room was more desirable than their company and suspended sus-pended a 90-day sentence on condltioa that they vacate the city at once. It was discovered that each had deposited bail to the amount of $10 and the same was declared forfeited. Jessie Louis also forfeited $10 ball for vagrancy. A similar disposition was made of the case of John Wink charged with drunkenness, he having deposited $5 for his appearance in court. . |
