Show TAFT HAS SEVERAL GUESTS He Say He Will Announce Make-up of Cabinet on March 5 Washington, March 1. President Elect Taft said today that tho first announcement of the make up of his cabinet would be made March 6, whon ho sends the names of the men he has selected to the senate for confirmation. The cabinet, however, has been made known as each of its members has been selected. Changes in the diplomatic corps, Mr. Taft says, will not be considered for some time to come. It is possible that several important places in the federal fed-eral service may bo filled and tho nominations nom-inations go to the senate with the cabinet. cab-inet. It has been predicted that W. Leod, Jr., secretary to President Roosevelt, to be collector of tho port of New York, will be one of the first appointments of Mr. Taft A conference with Senator Knox was had by Mr. Taft today during which tho latter Bald many matters of Importance had been considered. Senator Hopkins of Illinois called on Mr. Taft during the day. Senator Scott of West Virginia, who Is to be toastmaster at the Philippine party dinner here tonight, saw Mr. Taft today. to-day. Senator Gamble of South Dako-to Dako-to and Representative Brownlow of Tennessee, also called. Asked what his program for the day was, Mr. Taft laughingly replied that If the demand upon his time by callers was not too heavy, he would take a long walk and then added that he should like verv much to go straight up to the capitol that he "just bad an itching" in that direction. He explained ex-plained that he should enjoy a viBit on the floor of the sonate and house because be-cause there were many men there he wanted to see and have chats with. That he had no Intention of doing so, was made clear by the statement that, while he was not president, he was beginning be-ginning to realize several of the limitations lim-itations of that office. The passing of the so-oalled Ananias club, established by President Roosevelt, Roose-velt, Is one of the vehicles of pleasantry pleasan-try between the outgoing and incoming incom-ing president. According to the story which is going the rounds, Mr. Roosevelt Roose-velt has accused Mr. Taft of already starting an "Opposition" club the "Buncombe clab." In several of his recent speeches in which criticism of the Panama canal has been dealt with unsparingly, Mr. Taft has declared that "Buncombe congressmen" have been largely responsible, therefore, the President, it is said, has Joked with his successor of his "buncombe" organization. or-ganization. Arrangements are being made by Mr. Taft for a tea to be held at the White House, March 5, in honor of the eighty members of the Yale .class of '78, who are to attend the inauguration. inaugura-tion.
