Show MYSTERY OF SAILING VESSEL AT LAST SOLVED. Algiers, Feb. 28. The mystery of the identity of the sailing ve6sol which was rammed by the Belgian steamer Austria during a storm on the twelfth of February, near Alboran Island in the Mediterranean, appears now to be solved. Both vessels foundered as a result of the collision, but ten members mem-bers of the crow of the Austria, who had put off in a small boat, were picked up by the Oerman steamer Liberia and brought to Algiers. Until today no word of tho fate of the sailing vessel had been received. The steamer Austria, Aus-tria, however, which arrived here today, to-day, reports having sighted a drifting drift-ing ship's boat between Cape Falcon and the Habibas Islands, off the Algerian Al-gerian coast, on February 27. on which was painted the name "Condor, London." In tho boat were five bodies, one of which slid into the sea as the steamer approached. The boat was ,half swamped and had a tattered sail. 'The sailors were apparently dead at least ten days. |
