Show OIL SMLEH Believe 2000 Persons in Middle Mid-dle West Taken in by Ten Accused KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 8. William Wil-liam H. Woods, now a resident of Chicago,- was indicted jointly with nine other persons by a federal grand jury here today on thirty-six counts charging charg-ing the use of tho mails to defraud. Woods was arraigned today and allowed al-lowed sixty days to prepare his answer an-swer to tho indictment. Ho was released re-leased on $5000 bond. The method used, according to government gov-ernment officials, was to obtain fees of $100 to $200 from persons on a representation rep-resentation that the oil and land concern con-cern of which Woods was managor, would obtain government land for those porsons from reclamation projects proj-ects at Mesa, Garfield and Rio Blanco, Colo.
