Foremost among thes? Is the Sempre Musical society. Preparations Prepa-rations for the society's annual musicale have been under way for the past few weeks, but Jt was only a few days ago that ihe date of the musicale was announced, an-nounced, together with a program which promises some fine and exceptional excep-tional entertainment. Mrs. Bowmaj returned re-turned to Ogden Tuesday evening, while Mrs. Wattls remained in tho capltol to attend tho recoptlon given at tho Hotel Utah Wednesday evening even-ing by Mrs. Simon Bamberger and to meet Mrs. Julian M. Bamberger. The annual meeting of the Wasatch Literary Liter-ary club is ono of the prominent events of the season in Salt Lake, and has always claimed the best of social success. Ogden has been represented represent-ed at the meeting each year. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Barnes IeJt on Tuesday for New Orleans, where Mr. Barnes will attend a convention. -TLsy will visit, while en route, Chicago and St, Louis. Members of the Service Star Legion Le-gion met with the members of the American Legion last Monday evening even-ing in the University club rooms, and ono of the most enjoyable meetings was spent by the members of both organizations. Professor Reeves of the O. ii. S. gavo a talk on "Americanization," "Ameri-canization," which proved to be very interesting to those who attended the meeting. Besides the addross given by Professor Reeves. Mrs. J. G. Ealek also gave a short address. Miss Mary Fisher gave a violin solo. Miss Mildred Mil-dred Ware sang a solo and Mrs. Don Beason entertained with piano selections. selec-tions. About forty members of tho Service Star Legion were present. The Pythian Sisters held their regular reg-ular meeting in tho K. of P. hall Tuts-day Tuts-day evening. Company D of the Daughters of the Pioneers met Thursday afternoon at the homo of Mrs. Clydo Grocnweil, 1121 Twenty-third streot, Tho meeting meet-ing was opened at 2:20 o'clock. The Ogden W. C. T. C, where Mr. Culley Cul-ley will be in attendanco at the National Na-tional Pharmeceutlcal convention.
