When Chairman Good of the house appropriations committee notified noti-fied Congressman Welling that Ogden probably would not be chosen for any' of the three depots contemplated lii the appropriation for the war department, depart-ment, Representative Welling at oncoi notified Senator Reed Smoot. The two Utahns convinced the house appropriation ap-propriation committee that Ogden was tho right place for one of the three establishments. "The committee has reported favorably favor-ably on the bill under which more than $6,000,000 will be spent for the construction of the threo ammunition plants. The Ogden depot will cost $2,500,000. Senator Smoot will champion Og-den's Og-den's cause when the measure comes to the senate." |
