Show Utah Creamery Men Hold a Meeting ! SALT LAKE. Nov 21 Plans look lpg to the formation of a statewide I organization of the creamery inlerests j for the primary' object of devt loping .the dairying industry in the staJK and of fostering better trade practices were formulated at a meeting held yesterday yes-terday at the office ol Walter M Boy-den, Boy-den, state diary and food communion ers. Manufacturers of diary products from many sections of the state met with the members of the state depart-1 ment and sueeested that a preliminary step toward such development would be the promulgation of regulations by the commission as would eliminate i many of the bad practices which arcl now said to exist, elue in a large mea-1 sure to competitive conditions. As a concrete method of bringing about such an organization it was sug-i. sug-i. I' d to the commission thai it issue regulations in conformity with those recently adopted at a national meet-1 Ing of creamery interests with the fed-1 end trade commission. The latter reg-lations reg-lations were the result of a confer-1 mi held this month In Omaha. The meeting yesterday was called by ' Commissioner Boyden to discuss the I alleged trade practice of over and under un-der testing of cream purchased from farmers. The practice was uniform ly condemned by the creamery men presenl as being an item of consider able expense in manufacturing as well as having a tendency to disrupt the business generally. |
