Show TWO BOYS 11 SENT ' TO INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL Robert Mack and Theodore Weaver, bolh aged 10, appeared before Judge Joshua Homer in juvenile court to answer an-swer to tho charge of rape committed on Monday afternoon, last on a Tittle girl of the tender age of 9 years. The testimony In the case was clearly clear-ly given by the little girl's brother, mother and the physician who exac-ined exac-ined tho child. Dr. George A. Dixon. Tho court was delayed in Its proceedings pro-ceedings owing to the extreme difficulty diffi-culty incurred in getting the little girl to give her testimony. The loving appeals ap-peals of tho mother and the father, the tactful methods of Attorney Stine were of no avail for a period of close upon: twenty minutes so stricken with pitiable piti-able grief was tho outraged child. Far different from that was the callous cal-lous behavior of the boy, Robert Mack, who, deaf to the entreaties of his stricken mother to tell tho truth and try to be a man, sat with a broad grin over his face as he, with downcast head, nervously chewed upon a tooth-' tooth-' pick. Bolh the boys refused to take the stand in their own behalf. The brutal act was related in the child's testimony. Both boys were committed to the state industrial school, and as they were reminded in the serious language of Judge Homer and Attorney Stine, they had escaped, by reason of their years, from a very heavy sentence. The parents of tho boys are deeply depressed and state that the youngsters young-sters had gotten beyond their control. |
