Show Revelation of Mow ' Von Bernstorff Tried To Upset U. S. NEW YORK, Oct. 10. Revelation of the method by which Count von Bernstorff and other German propagandists propa-gandists failing in their effort to stop the shipment of munitions to the allies al-lies by blowing up ships or factories, organized a $2,000,000 pseudo-Ameri-jcan corporation the Bridgeport Pro-jjectilo Pro-jjectilo company to ta,ke big orders J from the allies and then purposely fail to fill them, was made here tonight by A. Mitchell Palmer, alien property custodian, in announcing the taking over of 19,900 of the 20,000 shares of capital stock of the Bridgeport, Conn., concern. In addition Mr. Palmer stated stat-ed the company had reported to him other property worth $500,000 held by it for and in behalf of Germany. This action folloved many months of inquiry by Francis P. Carvan, director direc-tor of the bureau of investigation of the alien property custodian's office and involved besides von Bernstorff, Dr. Helnrich Albert, Dr. Bernard Dern-burg, Dern-burg, Captain von Papon, Wolf von Igel, Carl ITeynen, one time American consul in Mexico, recently interned, and Hans Tauscher, husband of Madame Ma-dame Gadski, the American representative represen-tative of Krupp, Mauser and other German munition manufacturers. |
