Signs that the German answer to President Wilson's noto might bo somewhat delayed brought about covering by shorts who had in mind that tomorrow would be a holiday and that to defer profit-taking to Monday would be to incur greatly great-ly increased risk. Offerings, however, widened out on bulges. Opening prices pri-ces which ranged from the same as yesterday's finish to lc higher with November $1.12 to 1.135 and December De-cember $1.11 to 1.12 Vi, were followed by material gains all around. Oats rose with corn. Trade was not large. After opening c off to a like advance with November 644 to 64c, the market scored moderate general gains. Provisions were neglected. Tho tendency of prices though was upgrade. up-grade. Bearish reactions which ensued were not of a radical nature. Tho close was firm 1 to 2 Vic not higher with November $1.13 to 1.1-1 and December De-cember $1.12 to 1.13.
