Show SENATOR KEARNS IS STRUCK BY AN AUTO SALT LAKE. Oct. 11. As a result of being knocked down by an automobile auto-mobile on Main street yesterday, former for-mer United States Senator Thomas Kearns is at his home suffering from what may be a fracture of the bone of the right ankle. In addition his arm was badly bruised and he was severely shocked. Senator Kearns was struck by a Ford machine. No. 17773, driven by E. Watts, 529 Sixth avenue. Captain Henry Taggart of the police department depart-ment witnessed the accident and secured se-cured the name of the driver, who, it is said, will be required to answer a charge of reckless driving. Mr. Kearns was on his way home and stepped Into Maln'strect from the monument corner. Tho machine whisked around the corner at a lively speed, the senator says, and, although he made every effort to avoid it, tho driver kept dodging directly toward him.
