Show CnHKIIlEHllHiEHilM These Simple Rules on Health May Save Your Child's Life j If you would protect your own health and that of your child, an exceeding simple expedient would be to observe the suggestions given below. These pictures and appended explanations are reproductions of health charts that are being issued from the American Museum, as originally prepared by Dr. C. E. A. Winslow, curator of its department of health. They are designed to educate children and grown-ups in personal hygiene. Scientific investigation has proven that much contagious disease is spread in the most innocent appearing manner. Strict obseiwance of the suggestions may possibly save the life of your child. c ONE'S own hands may carry disease germs, for through the day they touch a hundred hun-dred things which some one else may havo infected. Individual towels nnd soap should always bo used. THE house fly breeds in stables and garbage dumps and might better bo called the filth fly. From these dirty places it often carries germs on its feet to food that we eat and thus spreads disease. THESE little girls are doing sums with one pencil, which each in turn puts into her mouth. Whatever germs are in the mouths will be well mixed, and if either child has any disease it will be likely to spread. t THE common drinking cup may spread disease. If the littlo girl has any harmful germB in her mouth the little boy who is reaching for the glass and tho big boy who is waiting for it may catch the disease. |
