Show uu PRICE FIXED ON ALL ALUMINUM WASHINGTON, March -1. A maximum maxi-mum base price of 32 cents a pound for aluminum at tho various American Ameri-can plants and their subsldarles havo been fixed by President Wilson. Tho price is subject to rovlslon on June 1 and covers lots of fifty tons and over of ingots of a 98 to 99 per cent grade. Tho price was fixed after investigation investi-gation by tho federal trado commission commis-sion and an agreement by the Avar industries in-dustries board with the producers. The conditions aro that wages will not be reduced, that the government, the allies and the public shall purchase at tho same prlco and that steps be taken for the distribution of aluminum to prevent it from falling Into the hands of speculators who might increase in-crease the price to tho public. The producers agreed to exert every effort to keep such an adequate amount of aluminum during the war. |
