Show L W. W. MEMBERS HELDjN JAIL Dangerous Extremists Under $10,000 Bail Which They Are Unable to Raise. CHICAGO, March 4. Declaring that J. A. McDonald of Seattle, editor of "Tho Industrial Worker," Is a "dangerous "dan-gerous extremist," Charles F. Clyno, United States district attorney here, today opposed a motion for a reduction reduc-tion in bail In the cases of McDonald, Charles Achleigh, San Francisco, and A. D. Kimball, Phoonlx. Ariz. Tho men wero among tho 106 members of the I. W. W. who woro indicted for sedition and disloyalty. They arc held in jail because unable to raiso the $10,000 ball demanded of each. Mr. Clyne handed Judge Landis a letter written by McDonald in which tho latter said he was amazed that any member of the I. W. W. should desire de-sire to become a citizen of the United States. Attorneys for the men claimed that jail Ufo was breaking their health, especially es-pecially McDonald who is suffering from tuberculosis. Judge Landis took the application under advisemont. |
