Show oo AMERICAN TROOPS MOVING NORTH I Pershing Reports Continued Advance in Spite of Strong Resistance. WASHINGTON, Sept. 3 Continued advances by American troops north of the Aisno in spite of strong enemy resistance re-sistance are reported by General Pershing Per-shing in his communique for Monday announcing the capture of Terny-Sor-ney. The Communique follows: Headquarters American Expeditionary Expedition-ary forces, Septembor 2, 1918. Section A North of the Alsue our troops have continued to advance in spite of the strong resistance of the enemy and have taken the village of Terny-Sorney. In the operations yesterday yes-terday in this region they captured 572 prisoners, two 105 caliber guns and 7S machine guns. North of the Vesle two local hostile attacks were repulsed with losses to the enemy. |
