Show A. C. CALL IS GIVEN SEVERE SICK BY A MISTAKE A persistent rumor which has circulated cir-culated about Ogden for several days to the effect that O. A. Call, son of A. C. Call of the county exemption board, had suffered tho loss of both legs and ono arm in the war and was on his way home, was denied today by Mr. Call. He said tho mistako was made through tho confusion of his son's namo with that of O. A. Call of Bur-ley. Bur-ley. Idaho, a son of his cousin, who was on his wajr home from the wnr and reported to have been wounded in the terrible manner stated. Mr. Call first heard the report several sev-eral days ago while on his farm at Wilson and was shocked so terribly that ho did not recover for two days. Iuquiry, however, developed the information infor-mation that it was not his son as a Jotter Jot-ter received from the boy, the last received. re-ceived. Was dated after the other Call had been wounded, and stated he was In good healtli and safe. Mr. Call then heard from a friend that It was the son of his cousin at jBurley, Idaho, who had been wounded land that his cousin had left for New York to bring the boy home. It was also reported that his eyes were badly damaged but that the sight of one would bo saved. . O. A. Call of Wilson, was ono of tho first soldiers to leave for Camp Lewis last fall with the county boys and has been in France and In activo service for several months. nn |
