Show SALT LAKE MARINE KILLED IN ACTION SALT LAKE, July 30. The name of George L. Young, Salt Lake railroad man, who enlisted in the marine corps soon after war was declared, has been added to tho roster of Utahns who have given their lives to tho nation. Mr. Young has been killed in action in the Soissons-Rheims salient fighting. This news was received from tho war department last night by tho young man's mother, Mrs. Margaret Young, 215 North Fifth West street. No details further than that Mr. Young died on the field of honor were given. Born at Park City, Utah, Mr. Young came to Salt Lake with his family fifteen fif-teen years ago. Ho resided here until his enlistment in tho marine corps, June 4, 1917. Previous to donning the uniform he was an employee of the Denver & Rio Grande railroad shops. Mr. Young was 24 years old. Besides his mother, Mr. Young leaves two brothers and two sisters, William Young, Martin Young, Agnes Young and Maggie Young, all residents resi-dents of Salt Lake. |
