For tho purpose pur-pose of fixing this year's prlcos for threshing wheat oats and barley in that vicinity, a meotlng will be held at Sandy today, at which the farmers and threshing machino operators will coufor with Mark H. Green, Utah representative rep-resentative of tho United States Grain corporation, who Is aiding In such adjustments ad-justments throughout tho state when called upon to do so. Mr. Green attended a similar mooting moot-ing at Bountiful yesterday afternoon, whoro tho threshing prices agreed upon at Ogden for Weber and Davis counties wore adopted. These aro thirteen thir-teen cents a bushel fomwheat, eleven cents for barley and nine cents for oats. These figures represent a compromise com-promise fixed by Mr. Green between those asked by tho threshers and those desired by tho farmers, both sides having hav-ing agreed to submit to his decision. While in most districts tho farmers and threshers succeed in adjusting their prices without his assistance, Mr. Green has received several requests re-quests to give his services in tho adjustment ad-justment With a wealth of wheat already ripe In the fields, the threshing situation might have become a serious ono but for tho patriotic stand taken by thrcshermen, Mr. Green says. nn |
