WASHINGTON, July 29 President Wilson at a conference today with Samuel Gompers, president of the American Federation of Labor, discussed dis-cussed child labor legislation proposed as a substitute for the law recently declared de-clared unconstitutional by tho supremo court, The case of Thomas J. Mooney, California labor leader, sentenced to bo executed December 13, also was discussed, Mr. Gompers said. The president expressed a deep Interest In-terest in tho proposed child labor legislation, leg-islation, according to Mr. Gompers, and considered it especially necessary during dur-ing the coming years when the health and lives of children must bo guarded In order to make up for the losses sustained sus-tained in tho war. Mr. Gompers after the conference expressed the belief that a bill In accordance with the supreme su-preme court decision will bo Introduced Introduc-ed shortly after congress meets after its recess.
