Show NEW INDUSTRY WHEllAL I FOR STOCK FEEDING WILL BE PRODUCED IN LARGE QUANTITY Construction of a mill for the manufacture manu-facture of meal for feeding stock and an immense feeding yard by the Hansen Han-sen Livestock & Feeding company, is another of the huge industrial enterprises enter-prises of the year which havo been started In Ogden. Grading 'work has been completed and building will begin within a week on this" company's new plant, which is to be located one-half mile southeast of the Amalgamated Sugar company's factorv in Wilson Lane and will consist con-sist of a mill and threeN immense (ceding (ced-ing barns on a plot of ground fifty acres in area. Plans for the four buildings have been drawn and contractors are at work now estimating the cost so that bids may be submitted. The manufacture of the meal as proposed pro-posed will add another manufacturing industry to Ogdon and will contribute, together with the other Interests of the Hansen Livestock & Feeding com-panv, com-panv, a business of approximately ?3,- 000. 000 per year. It is expected that the mill and feeding barns will be completed com-pleted and ready for use by December 1. The outlay for the construction will approximate $30,000. The manufacturing plant will have a capacity of from seventy to eighty tons per day but, with two shifts working, work-ing, the company expects to turn out between 100 and 120 tons of meal. This meal product is one made by the local company only. Thero are several sever-al brands of stock food on tho market but tho Hansen company's formula for this food is considered superior. Experience over a number of years in the feeding and care of livestock has resulted in the balanced meal as it will be made by the local mill. The meal is made from alfalfa, grain, cotton cot-ton seed cake, and several other in-' gredients. In addition to the mill, the feeding barns and yards will have a capacity for 10,000 head of sheep and a large number of catde or hogs. The barns will he of the most modern construction construc-tion with devices for feeding the stock automatically. These barns will have outside dimensions of 60 feet by 100 feet. A spur track will have to be built to the site of the'new feeding yard and mill and grading for this track is under un-der -way. The rails will be laid from the sugar factory track and run a distance dis-tance of about three city blocks. Modern loading yards and platforms will also be built as an adjunct to the feed yards. The construction of this plant to the west of Ogden brings one more Immense Im-mense addition to tho industrial activity activ-ity of that part of the city. West Ogden Og-den has been stimulated to a great degree de-gree within the past year by the enlargement en-largement of the packing plant, the establishing of a modern horse sales market and the erecting of tho Immense Im-mense Globe Milling & Grain company's com-pany's elevator and mill Linda Vista concentration camp, at which placo training will soon begin to preparo them for actual work on the European battlefields. Bright and early this morning the soldiers were astir, much refreshed after af-ter a night's rest following the strenuous stren-uous activities of Wednesday in making mak-ing preparations for the departure. When the train slowed up at the depot the artillerymen artillery-men peered anxiously about for the expected ex-pected fruit. It was nowhere in sight. Much disappointed, the men climbed aboard. as the cars began to move. At that moment a cloud of dust announced announc-ed the arrival of the belated peaches, pears, apples and melons, but it was too late the train was again on its way. "Well, we got a look, anyway," remarked an optipiistlc soldier as he sank back in his seat. At Milford the members of the command com-mand wore royally welcomed. Practically Prac-tically the entire town .turned out in honor of the passing soldiers. The station sta-tion was elaborately decorated with the national colors and bunting, while the townspeople carried hundreds of smaller flags. A stop of several minutes min-utes was made and during this time women distributed candy, chewing gum and fruit among the troops. Caliente was reached late in the afternoon. aft-ernoon.
