Show CHICAGO, Aug. 31 William D. Haywood, in a cell at the county jail today, said ho Intended to write his autobiography in the near future. He has had several offers from publishers and he has decided to accept them. He admitted he had little hope of gaining his freedom, either by appeal to the higher courts, or by pardon. "If there was n war verdict there might bo some hope but I don't look on this as a war vordict," said Haywood. Hay-wood. "1 fear we have not much to hope for oven when the war Is over. I figure that If we all wore guilty of conspiracy we should have received the same sentence. I cannot understand under-stand why some were given major terms and some short terms." oo |
