Eighteen Eigh-teen British merchant vessels of more than 1,600 tons were sunk during the past week, it was officially announced tonight. One vessel of less than 1,600 tons and two fishing vessels were sunk. Tho announcement reads: "Weekly summary "Arrivals, 2,791; sailings, 2,768: "British merchant vessels sunk by mines and submarines over 1,600 tons, eighteen; under 1,600 tons, one.
