Show SEALS LOSE IN DOUBLEHEADER Los Angeles Is on the Job, Winning Both Memorial Day Games From San Francisco. LOS ANGELES, May 30. Far Into his sleeping hours granting that the old man did sleep Harry Wolverton must havo heard that taunting snarl of sarcasm: "Say. how did you fellows fel-lows ever get in the lead?" Tho Memorial day results were such that wo were forced to believe that either the Seal machino has stripped a gear or the press agent has been stringing us. The Angels won both games, 3 to 1 and 7 to 1. And that aftornoon game at Washington park was Just ono long laugh, with a couple of giggles and a sneeze thrown in. Red Oldham's "prayer ball" was pounded twelve ways from tho big drum. Mingled with the hissing sound of the well-known base hits were five chunks of comedy contributed by tho demoralized Seals. On the other side of tho lot, tho Angels played a surprisingly sur-prisingly aggressive gamo, with never a fumble to mess up the "E" column. A funny game, this baseball stuff you can't figure it. When hits would havo meant dam-ago dam-ago Pete Standridge had the opposition opposi-tion popping puff balls for easy outs. And all the time poor old Oldham had to dodge every tlmo ho let go of the ball. The mercy of It all was that good old Henberry wasn't here to witness wit-ness the brutality. Standridge wobbled but one. The Seals got to him for three )ts and a harmless run in the sixth, after which Vaughn halted things with a great stop of Corhan's slashing bounder. Our old friend Spider Baum, with a light frloze of frosty whiskers on his noble chin, was the victim of tho morning raid, when tho Angols played beautiful baseball behind Charley Hall and Avon the game, 3 to 1.
